New Zealand

My first bicycle touring experience was abroad in New Zealand. Originally planned for the end of 2012, work commitments kept me in Sydney over the Christmas period. From November 2013 to January 2014 I collected landscapes in New Zealand’s Westland and alps.

Riding in Australia is a difficult endeavour, with some of the most unique landscapes found through the central deserts. Most of the riding I’ve done in Australia are weekend tours accessible from Sydney, though over Christmas 2014 I headed South towards Melbourne, and in August 2015 I rode a winding track with friends along the Murray River towards Adelaide.

Canada (Hitchhiking)

The first bit of really wandering travel that I did. In 2009 I lived abroad and studied in Toronto, Canada. During the summer University closure I headed east to WWOOF on some farms in Newfoundland and on Prince Edward Island. Originally unplanned, I ended up hitchhiking all the way to the West coast with hundreds of unique experiences and meetings along the way. It formed the foundation for a love of slow travel and methods to aide in interaction with locals.
